Meet the Creator
Geshu Sugandh is an American author, artist, and storyteller in Hindi and English. Her debut bilingual board book, My Heart Would Like Some More, Please!, an Indian tea party story promotes bi-literacy in Hindi, the Devanagari script, and English, celebrating inclusive cultural exploration. After a 15+ year finance career advising global healthcare companies, Geshu discovered her passion for family life and storytelling inspired by her children. Her diverse education and career span beyond the US and India, enriching her perspectives.
Hindi brings her a lot of personal joy. She actively home-educates her two children in Hindi and the Devanagari script, encouraging them to speak, read and write. As an artist, Geshu enjoys experimenting and weaving languages, art, and the Devanagari script to create exclusive designs that blend language learning with celebration and exploration.
Geshu believes that the more words we know from more worlds, the more worlds we will know, inspiring us to grow our bilingual tribe of curious, inclusive and empowered explorers of words and worlds. Her imprint and boutique, BROOKLYNBIHARN, honors her blended roots as a Biharn from Bihar and Brooklyn, encapsulated in a logo that interweaves the letters “B” and “ब” from the Latin and Devanagari scripts.
