Story Behind Our First Super Simple Hindi Songs for Children: Shubh Din ('Good Day')
👅✨🌸 Language blooms when words take space on our tongues.
“Have a good day!” is what I say to my children each morning before we part.
Simple. Everyday. Casual.
Yet filled with care.
I wanted to say something similar in Hindi, but it wasn’t as easy as you might think.
In my childhood, we didn’t say “Have a good day!” in Hindi.
My parents wished me well in other ways:
“Reach safely.”
“Hope everything went well.”
But there was not a casual, affectionate way to bless the day ahead that I knew.
When I searched for an equivalent in Hindi, I landed on Shubh Din.

Shubh can mean “auspicious,” but it also works as the Hindi equivalent of “good” in greetings like Shubh Ratri (“good night”).
At first, it felt foreign in my mouth.
My tongue and ears weren’t trained for it.
But my kids didn’t question it.
For them, “Shubh Din” was something their mom said.
Something that carried warmth,
Something that promised a good day.
And soon, they began saying it back.
Two simple words took space on my tongue and created a world of their own.
A world where Hindi comes alive in micromoments.
A world where we can wish and manifest a good day in both English and Hindi.
A world where Shubh Din bloomed into a song.
And, a world where the universe connects you with like-minded artists who love spreading the joy of multilingualism through creative language play.
Wishing each other Shubh Din is part of our family’s everyday language.
It can be part of yours too.🤸☀️✨🌸

Introducing Shubh Din (“Good Day”) – Our First Super Simple Hindi Song for Children
Shubh Din, released under BrooklynBiharn and created in collaboration with The Mr. John Show, is an original Hindi children’s song designed to support joyful Hindi learning.
🌞 Age group: Appropriate for all ages (0–10 especially)
🎧 Theme: A joyful, upbeat journey through a child’s day
🧠 Language: Simple, clear Hindi with rich vocabulary and gentle repetition
Sample lyrics from Shubh Din (with English translation):
Shubh din, shubh din, aaya hai naya din
“Good day, good day, a new day has come”
Chalo shuru karein hum apna yeh shubh din
“Let’s begin our own good day”
The song follows familiar daily rhythms—waking up, brushing, getting dressed, playing with friends, riding bikes, singing, resting when tired, and finally saying goodbye with hugs and kisses—ready for another brand new Shubh Din. ✨
The rap-style delivery gives children natural exposure to spoken poetry, verb forms and sequencing in Hindi: uthenge, nahayenge, haath muh dhoyenge (“we’ll get up, bathe, wash our face and hands…”)
This structure makes the language feel alive, musical, and easy to remember.

John, from The Mr. John Show, and I are continuing our collaboration to bring more Super Simple Hindi songs and help explorers of all ages and backgrounds connect with Devanagari script through Akshar Ajgar phonic series.
